PCSAA Handbook

HANDBOOK

The District of Columbia State Athletic Association’s (DCSAA) ‘Policies, Rules, and Regulations Governing Athletics Handbook for Members’ is a culmination of multiple collaborative discussions with key stakeholders, such as parents, administrators, teachers, and coaches, who are dedicated to interscholastic athletics in the District of Columbia. Since its formation in 2012, DCSAA’s mission is to create a unified system by which to govern and administer interscholastic athletic programs and to provide statewide competitions for public schools, public charter schools, private schools and parochial schools.

For the 2013-14 school year, this handbook should be used as template and guidance for Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to assist in the administration of athletic programs. While DCSAA continues its efforts to create a unified interscholastic program for all of the District of Columbia’s student-athletes, we appreciate your patience and welcome your comments on the first DCSAA handbook.

The State Athletic Office welcomes and appreciates your comments as this handbook may be modified at a later point.
